Artists Breaking the Binary Site

Artists Breaking the Binary is a fully designed website built to amplify the voices of artists who actively challenge and redefine gender norms. Combining a bold teal, orange, and white color palette with a clean editorial layout, the site creates a platform that feels both authoritative and inviting—spotlighting individual artists, their stories, and the broader conversation around gender representation in the arts. Designed for desktop, tablet, and mobile, the responsive site ensures the message reaches audiences across every screen, making gender-expansive art history and contemporary advocacy equally accessible.

Building Artists Breaking the Binary deepened my understanding of how design can function as a form of advocacy. Designing a multi-page, fully responsive website challenged me to think beyond aesthetics and consider how layout, hierarchy, and user flow could guide visitors through a meaningful narrative. I developed stronger skills in creating cohesive design systems that adapt across devices without losing their visual impact, and learned how to balance informational content with bold, expressive design choices. Most importantly, this project reinforced that intentional design has the power to give communities a platform and spark conversations that matter.

I am more than happy to discuss further! Reach out to me here.
